Benefits
This Scheme lasts 3 years, and the benefits to your Centre after each year are:
- By the end of the first year, Apprentices will have received a thorough grounding in the technical skills that will enable them to work effectively on Lexus vehicles. They will have an understanding of workshop practice and Health & Safety, completed and passed a number of skill tests and be able to complete a major service and minor repairs.
- By the end of the second year, Apprentices will be able to completely overhaul a clutch and cylinder head assembly, as well as undertake minor electrical diagnosis requiring the use of a multimeter.
- At the end of year three, Apprentices are fully qualified Lexus Technicians. In the workshop they will be able to complete any job asked of them, including major rebuilds, under supervision, and make extensive use of diagnostic equipment.
Education
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained at our National Apprentice Training Centre, along with workplace assessments, combine to deliver the very best in Apprentice training.

- Petrol / Diesel Engines
- Engine Management
- Drivetrain
- Wheel Alignment and Suspension
- Electrical Systems
- Brakes / ABS Systems
Qualifications
Upon completion of the 3 year Scheme, Technician Apprentices will be awarded the following qualifications:
- IMI Technical Certificate
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Lexus Technician Certificate
- Advanced Apprenticeship Certificate
- Key Skills Certificates
