This Scheme lasts 3 years, and the benefits to your Centre after each year are:
On completion of their first year, Apprentices will have received a thorough grounding in the technical skills that will enable them to start working on Toyota vehicles. They will have an understanding of workshop practice and Health & Safety, recognise body design and construction layouts, the effects of collision, and manufacturers' repair techniques.
By the end of the second year, Apprentices will be able to carry out panel repairs on simple surfaces using all the latest technology and repair materials. In addition, they will be able to use specialist welding equipment.
At graduation, Apprentices are fully qualified Toyota Licensed Body Technicians. They will be able to realign a damaged chassis using approved jig systems, and remove and replace stressed and non-stressed body panels. During their 3 year Apprenticeship they will gain a full understanding of quality requirements which will prepare them to work on their own initiative.
